Influenza Vaccination

The Mercari Health Insurance Association subsidizes the cost of influenza vaccinations.
Vaccines are an effective way to prevent serious illness, even suppressing the onset of infectious diseases if infected.

Subsidy Availability October 1 - End of February
Vaccines Eligible for Subsidy Seasonal influenza vaccines
*Influenza vaccines not approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare are not eligible for this subsidy.
(e.g.: FluMist live intranasal influenza vaccine, etc.)
Amount of Subsidy 2,000 yen per person regardless of the number of vaccinations.
(If the vaccination fee paid out-of-pocket is less than the specified amount, the actual cost)
Application Procedure
  1. Get vaccinated at a medical institution, pay for the vaccination, and receive a receipt
  2. Submit the subsidy application either through the health insurance website's online application system or by using the application form.
  3. The payment will be transferred to the designated account at a later date.

  • Receipt (original copy)
    - Insured persons must fill in the full name of the person who has been vaccinated, details of the examination (influenza vaccination), and date of vaccination as well as the name, address, and contact information for the healthcare provider in addition to a receipt stamped by the healthcare provider with the payment amount.
    - Please take separate receipts if more than one person is vaccinated at the same time. If the healthcare provider cannot issue separate receipts, please ask the healthcare provider to include the names of the people who have been vaccinated and a break down of the charges.

If a portion of the vaccination cost is borne by the national or local government (subsidy), the health insurance society will cover the amount after deducting the subsidy amount.
